Since 1950, Pocono Health System Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care is and remains the only nonprofit home health or hospice agency based in Monroe County.

Visiting Nurse Agencies helped create the profession of home health care. That means we are a member of a 110-year-old network of community based not-for-profit home health agencies who you can count on to provide care for patients and families with the highest standards of quality , commitment and efficiency.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Pocono Health System Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care is to provide high quality, cost effective health and supportive services in the home and/or community setting. It is our intention to provide these services to the people of our community regardless of their ability to pay.
What We Do

What is Hospice? Hospice provides palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on end-of-life symptom management, relief from pain, and optimal quality of life for the patient. Hospice is not a place, it is a program, type of care. With hospice, patients can receive care in their home, surrounded by loved ones, a nursing home, an assisted living facility, or at an inpatient hospice home. The goal is to offer physical, emotional and spiritual support in a tranquil environment. When you choose hospice, you are choosing to give your loved one the gift of comfort and dignity in their remaining days. Hundreds of thousands of people choose hospice each year. We are proud to offer this important and meaningful service to our community. |
