Who We Are
Safe Monroe (formerly known as Women’s Resources of Monroe County) is a private non-profit [501(c)(3)] tax-exempt corporation and has been a member of the United Way of Monroe County since 1980. Our Mission it to provide a safe and caring environment that encourages healing and empowerment for anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic and sexual abuse. We strive to engage our community through awareness, advocacy, and prevention
What We Do
Safe Monroe offers FREE and CONFIDENTIAL services for anyone who has been a victim, or family members of victims, of domestic and/or sexual abuse. Established in 1980 we have grown and expanded our services to meet the needs of victims and survivors in our area. Domestic and sexual abuse know no boundaries – women, men, children, teens, LGBTQ+, young and old; anyone can be a victim of abuse, therefore anyone can be eligible to receive services at Safe Monroe.
